Ashley Judd is said to have faced years of quiet professional fallout after rejecting Harvey Weinstein, with insiders pointing to a single encounter in a Beverly Hills hotel room that may have altered the course of her career.

The alleged incident dates to the late 1990s, when Judd, then 28 and gaining momentum, was invited to meet Weinstein at the Peninsula Beverly Hills under the expectation of a standard career discussion.

What she has since described instead was an encounter that left her navigating a situation she found deeply uncomfortable, while trying to exit without damaging her future in an industry where power often operated out of sight.
